Sophie Levygaley
Sophie Levygaley was born in France. Early on in her education she pursued the arts, culminating in a Master's degree from ESAG Penninghen, where she also won the Saturday Designer competition and composed her first paintings. In the following years, she held creative positions at Yves Saint Laurent and Nina Ricci as she refined her style. Sophie's artistic achievements have been recognized in her appearance at the multiple exhibitions in the Philippines, France and the United Kingdom as well as The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art in London, at the Carrousel du Louvre Presented by Focus in Paris. She used Abstract Art to express what words cannot phrasing. Every canvas illustrates this relentless research in technique and her mindfulness approach, articulating the relation between inner and outer landscapes into a meaningful conversation. Gesture, touch and color come together in a powerful way to express more deeply some abstract idea about the immaterial world. It is also about sensations: smell, texture, reflection of light, transparency and the pleasure of the colors. She washes, dilute, brush or scratch the painting. The texture responds to her body language like a dance. She researches to express a part of the truth of human being through her works and create a resonance with the inner landscape of the observer.
