Rachida Addou

Artist Biography:

In essence, passion stems from embracing our true self. My art is not for everyone; it is a reflection of my authentic self. It has been described as raw, bold, or even “…toxic, but I love it…” I dare to dive deep into my emotions, especially the darkest and most uncomfortable ones. As I transfer these emotions onto my canvas through the use of heavy textures, raw materials, and vibrant colors, I feel a great sense of relief—a sense of being whole. Painting allows me to escape to a place where I reconnect with my deepest truth, a place where possibilities are infinite, where freedom has no boundaries, and where one dares to simply be, unapologetically.
