Mélanie Bizard
Artist Statement:
My name is Mélanie Bizard, I am a French, self-taught contemporary painter since adolescence, and I painted my first canvas at 13 years old. Driven by the desire to make the world more beautiful, I care for humans, I write, and I paint life and humanity. Lulled by the music I cry out for life, I revolt, and I am amazed.
Each canvas is associated with a text illustrating the artist’s intention. These texts or poems are also part of a book soon available in bookstores from Les Editions du Panthéon (France). My art has evolved over time, soft and naive, then raw and explosive. I am now embarking on a deeper and more thoughtful trajectory.
Driven by this unique mode of expression, painting gives rhythm to my life, mixing personal history and a view of the world. All of my paintings are intuitive paintings punctuated by the seasons, human experiences, and music that spans time. Movement is what characterizes my paintings, a mixture of vibrations and perpetual undulations. I always paint while listening to music, which gives me an unstoppable artistic trance.
Most of my paintings are abstract and from time to time a few representative shapes slip in, always inviting reinterpretation. I like to mix acrylic and oil paint, highlighting complex emotions or the beauty of movements. Painting is an exhilaration and a way to share the beauty of this world with others. I am delighted to share these works and to be able to see them vibrate, again and again, elsewhere than in my studio.
