“Marilene is an artist based in the Netherlands. She has been interested in classical art from a young age. Although she also creates lyrical abstract paintings, her heart remains with traditional drawing. Marilene deliberately does not call herself a hyperrealist. If you look closely at her art, you will see that she does not blend, for example. the pencil strokes remain raw. She strives to make a realistic representation in which she retains the individual character of a work of art.”
