Artist Biography:

Mackenzie first got her start in art by taking studio art lessons at the age of twelve. She was quickly led to commissions alongside the development of her portfolio. At the age of seventeen, Mackenzie developed her artistic voice by attending the Art Institute of Chicago’s summer program and then went on to the University of Cincinnati to receive her BFA, where her personal artwork was displayed internationally. Her artistic practice has been continually enriched by her range of jobs in the creative field, developing her skills in disciplines from art therapy, art business, marketing, luxury fashion, collection management, cinematic production, and art historical research. These experiences have furthered her artistic practice and her presence in creative communities. Most recently, Mackenzie has been focused on combining the different outlets of her creative expression by working as both a painter and an Art Appraiser in New York City.

Artist Statement:

My art is a reportage of thoughts and research. The goal of my immersive pieces is to question morality while including personal narrative. The allegorical questions asked in my work are hidden in the storytelling elements of its visual density. The imagery applied in each composition is diaristic in placement but alludes to the deeper canon of interaction between art historical narrative and religious iconography.
