Keiko Howard was born in Japan. Due to her passion for movies and music during her high school years, she dreamed of flying to the United States. Her dream became a reality at the age of twenty. Her love of oil painting was solidified while studying English as a second language at SUNY New Paltz, where she ultimately completed her Bachelor's Degree in the Visual Arts.

She was immensely inspired and influenced by Impressionism, especially the works of Frenchman Claude Monet. Her paintings express the relationship between warmth, light, and complex spaces. Her subjects are most often everyday objects found in the homes of ordinary people.

Her painting was put on hold after her marriage to raise and care for her growing family. She participated in the Regatta Row 2020 during the pandemic to kickstart her painting career. Since then, she has received several awards from local art shows. She currently resides in Delaware County, NY.
