Jothi-Sèroj
“Jothi-Sèroj has always been passionate. His immoderate taste for beauty led him to become a sculptor-jeweller, the most artistic and most confidential branch of the jewellery field.
Fascinated by the precious cups and curiosities object from the 16th - 18th centuries as well as from different cultures around the world, Jothi- Sèroj lets this taste appear in these aquatic- themed works.
Despite the use of composite materials from recycling or picked up from the sea side , they remain relatively invisible in order to integrate the aesthetics of the piece. The ecological message wants to be transmitted in a subtle way, only shocking the mind by mixing polluting materials and precious ones like sapphires, diamonds, silver or gold... but the appreciation of the beauty remain the dominating purpose of the pieces
An alliance of modernity and respect for the ancient arts, it is an invitation to enter a dreamlike world, where representation, the abstract and the symbolic are mixed.”
