Daria Shugaieva

Artist Biography:

Daria Shugaieva is a Ukrainian artist based in Miami, Florida. Her journey as a painter began at school where she loved creating illustrations for school projects, posters, and newspapers.

In a world that often seeks to confine women to narrow stereotypes and ideals, her art serves as a form of liberation and affirmation. She aims to depict women in all their diversity, embracing the full spectrum of their experience and feelings. Working with oil paints, she achieves a wide range of effects, manipulates shadows and color palettes, and controls the final result. These techniques bring her closer to the greatest artists she has admired her whole life: Frida Kahlo, William Adolphe Bouguereau, Angelica Kauffman, and Elisabeth Louise Vigée le Brun.

Her creative process is a deeply personal journey, where each brushstroke becomes a dialogue between herself and the future viewer, who will finally explore the depths of emotions, character, and the stories etched into every face.
