Carmen Montilla
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
Carmen Montilla Castillo was born in Ibi (Alicante), Spain, in 1967. She enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada and later relocated to Seville to continue her education, earning her degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Painting from the University of Seville in 1991. Subsequently, she moved to Madrid, where, in 2001, she obtained the DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in Modern Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her work is included in private collections in Germany, France, and Spain, as well as in public collections in Italy. In recent years, she has developed her artistic path between Madrid, Strasbourg, and Menorca. In 2021, she established her residence on the Balearic Island, where she discovered her greatest source of inspiration in the exceptional blue of its waters.
