Artist Statement:

I am Camille Delamarre, a filmmaker, photographer, and painter. Alongside my career in filmmaking, I have passionately immersed myself in the world of painting where colors and canvases become reflections of my inner explorations. Painting for me is more than a passion; it is a vital necessity that allows me to connect with my deepest essence. It has transformed into a joyful addiction, with each evening dedicated to capturing my emotions on canvas.

Over time, I have created a significant collection of fifty works, primarily focused on the themes of solitude and nature. These subjects, though personal, evoke universal experiences and provide each viewer with a space for reflection and emotion. Solitude for me is not an escape, but an exploration; it allows me to center myself and meditate on my place in the universe. My portraits, in particular, invite introspection and contemplation of the emotional complexities of human beings.

Nature, with a special focus on trees, is a major source of inspiration in my art. Trees represent life, growth, and even the creative process itself, emerging from the shadow to bloom in the light. The artistic influence of my family is also palpable in my work, as my parents themselves were filmmakers and painters, while my grandfather, Raymond Delamarre, distinguished himself as a sculptor.

My artistic approach is simple: to paint what moves me, to explore what makes each human being unique, and to share these discoveries with the world. My works are the fruit of this personal and intimate exploration, an invitation to look beyond the surface to perceive the echoes of the soul.

Camille Delamarre, born in 1979, is a multifaceted French creative known for his roles as a film director, editor, painter, author, and photographer. Starting his career as an editor, Delamarre honed his skills in rhythm and timing, crucial for action cinema. He quickly became a key collaborator at EuropaCorp, working on significant blockbusters like "TAKEN 2."

Delamarre's directorial debut came with "Brick Mansions," a remake featuring Paul Walker that highlighted his capability to manage major productions while maintaining the suspense and vitality of action scenes. He further established his directorial reputation with "The Transporter 4," rejuvenating a well-known franchise with his unique visual style. More recently, he directed "Assassin Club" starring Noomi Rapace and Sam Neil.

Besides filmmaking, Delamarre is deeply engaged in painting, viewing it as essential for connecting with his inner self. This passion has produced a substantial collection of artworks centered on themes like solitude and nature, reflecting both personal insight and universal human experiences.
