"A Japanese abstract painter living in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, I began my career as a painter in September 2021. In my twenties, I suffered from a life-or-death illness, and learned how special and happy a healthy and peaceful daily life can be. For about 15 years, I have been searching through academic research how to truly enjoy my limited life and what true well-being is. As a result, I have learned the importance of accepting, understanding, believing, and loving oneself and the preciousness of being able to immerse oneself.

I asked myself what is the time that I can devote myself to the most, and it turned out to be painting pictures with my heart and soul. I want to use the limited time of my life to realize my own well-being. With this in mind, I began my career as a painter.

My artist name "Angelica Keiskei" is the scientific name of a plant native to Japan, and its name comes from its strong life force that even if you pluck a leaf, a new leaf will grow back tomorrow. As an artist, I chose this name with the hope of creating works full of life force that will give viewers the energy to face themselves and live their lives in their own way. I paint with all my heart so that as many people as possible can understand their identity, believe in themselves, and enjoy life in a positive way.
