Albina Bougartchev
My name is Albina Bougartchev, a Fine Art photographer from Moscow, Russia. I specialize in capturing still life and portraits—most of which are self-portraits. I revel in assuming various roles, living different lives, and exploring different epochs, characters, and costumes.
My creative inspiration stems from numerous esteemed artists: Gustav Klimt, Rene Magritte, Frida Kahlo, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Wassily Kandinsky, and diverse art genres—from baroque to impressionism, art deco to suprematism.
My admiration for fine art has always been profound. Wandering through rooms, moving from one painting to another in museums and art galleries, has been a source of immense pleasure, adventure, and thoughtful contemplation. Yet, it also brought a tinge of sadness, realizing that while classic paintings are stunning, they belong to the past.
Through my Fine Art photography, I experience a sudden, joyous connection—bridging the gap between then and now; linking people of the past, their ideals, and sense of beauty with us, modern individuals.
The objective of my art is to render this connection tangible to viewers, seamlessly merging the soft, enveloping grace, and exquisite elegance of the past with the crisp, edgy vision of today.
My creative process is always a delicate balancing act—a unique recipe every time. Hence, my artworks vary greatly in form. Yet, there's always a blend—an essence of impressionism, a cup of Frida Kahlo, two tablespoons of Manga, and a hint of good old humor.
